Etoile is strategically located in the middle of Pavilion centre and it has open cafe concept where it attracts many passers by. First thing you may notice when you walk around Etoile, the display racks show many types of cakes for only Rm6.50 such as Tiramisu, Black Forrest, Strawberry Tart, Fruit Flan, Mango Yogurt, and many types of cookies and chocolate truffles. The other racks show all the sandwiches, pastries, and soups. In the menu list, there is something called Souper Quick Lunch and it ranges as follow:

  • Quiche - RM 16
  • Pie or curry puff - RM 16
  • Homemade sausage - RM 16
  • Salad of the day - RM 14
  • Sandwich (Tuna, Egg Mayo, Smoked Salmon, Chicken, or Roast Beef) - RM 14

* All the above items are served with a cup of soup, with the choice of Chilli Con, Clam Chowder, Chunky Pasta, or Mushroom Soup, fresh bread roll, and a small jar of coffee or tea.

Well, let's put it this way, the price for a sandwich is about RM 8 - 9, a regular cup of soup is RM 12, and a serving of tea is RM 11. If you take the Souper Quick Lunch Sandwich set for RM 14, you save more than 50%. And I tell you, the portion is big for a full meal. It's definitely a keeper.

If you feel like eating light and quick, you may try any of the 8 types of salad. But let me warn you that this is not just normal salads. The chef tries best to keep even the healthiest and unappealing dish to become fancy and fabulous such as Wild Fire Salad (lettuce with salami and smoked duck), Cheese and Sausage Medley, and Nicoice Salad (chunky tuna, black olives, potato, and lettuce). Rest assured that you will keep coming back to Etoile for more.

For big eaters out there, you may try Etoile "Healthy" Buffet for RM25++ from Monday to Friday at 10am - 3pm. You can definitely take your time and enjoy the eminence of Pavilion.

*Etoile is by Hotel Equatorial

Would you return to this place?: Yes
Pros: I passed by Etoile at Pavilion KL and I was attracted with the display of many types of cakes and sandwiches. The location is magnificent and you can basically peep at the guests inside on what they are eating. So, I was very intriqued with the foods and I decided to give it a try. I was about to order Smoked Salmon Sandwich and a cup of tea. But luckily enough that the waiter offered if I would like to just get the Souper Quick Lunch Smoked Salmon Sandwich for RM 14. When I was waiting for the food, I was actually talking to my husband and we said that it is impossible that the set is only for RM 14 with sandwich, soup, and tea. Surprisingly enough, the chilli con (minced beed and tomato soup with Mexican touch) soup in regular cup with warm and fresh bread roll came along with smoked salmon sandwich served with beds of homemade spiced potato chips, fried black pepper cone cracker filled with fresh salad, and of course the big and generous white bread with mountain of smoked salmon. Still amazed with the foods, the tea came in a cute but classy jar with a pack of wafer from Holland.
It was definitely a steal for only RM14 and after all the taxes, it came up to RM16.10 for 2 pax tea time meal at Pavilion!!! We were definitely fascinated.

You guys must try!

Cons: There is nothing bad that I can say about Etoile. Except, don't forget to take the Set!!!
